In 1992, after serving as an accountant and financial analyst for the I. Magnin department store chain, Joe joined The Money Store Investment Corporation, then the nation’s largest Small Business Administration (SBA) lender, as a commercial loan officer.  In 1994, Joe moved on to Sacramento Commercial Bank, then one of California’s leading SBA lenders, where he became Assistant Vice President of Credit Administration in the bank’s SBA lending division.

Anxious to pursue a more entrepreneurial career path, in 1996 Joe joined Business Team, a leading California business brokerage, as an associate business broker.  During this period, Joe also attended McGeorge School of Law – University of Pacific in Sacramento, California.

In 2001, Joe graduated from McGeorge School of Law, obtaining a Juris Doctor Degree, with Distinction.  Joe received academic honors at McGeorge, being selected for membership in both the Traynor Society and the Order of the Coif.  Joe was both a writer and an editor for the McGeorge Law Review.  He authored Higher Education Meets the Agency Shop: Most UC and CSU Employees Will Pay “Fair Share” to Unions Even If They Chose Not to Be Union Members, 31 McGeorge L. Rev. 571 (2000).

After a brief stint investigating the 2001 California energy crisis, Joe began working as an associate attorney with Aronowitz and Skidmore, Inc. in Auburn, California in 2002.  At Aronowitz & Skidmore, Joe’s practice emphasized real estate litigation and business transactions.

In 2005, Joe established the Law Office of Joe Sandbank, where he emphasizes the representation of business buyers, sellers, and brokers in purchase transactions and related dispute resolution, including litigation, mediation, and arbitration.  Joe also handles various legal needs of small business owners.

Joe’s education and work experience make him uniquely qualified to advise clients on both the legal aspects and practical business aspects of any opportunity or dispute, and he is especially passionate about working with business buyers to help them achieve their dreams of business ownership.

Joe is a member of the California Association of Business Brokers (CABB) where he serves on the forms committee.
